GSE Ground Mount 4kw PV array & 10 PKW Battery Storage
Generation v Consumption
The bar graph below is before any batteries are added and clearly details the benefits of the volume of solar energy being generated against what’s being used immediately with the remainder exported to the grid, clearly showcasing how batteries can and do help improve the ROI to be achieved.
PROJECT BRIEF:
To install a ground mount array big enough to allow the customer to generate both enough energy for self consumption and sell any excess energy back to the grid on Octopus Agile Tariff
PROJECT DIFFICULTIES:
Ground not suitable for ground screws, and flat roof style mounting wouoldn’t provide a reasonable pitch to maximise peak generation from the array. Customers roof not suitable for roof mounted. No suitable internal location available for the inverter and batteries.
PROJECT OUTCOME:
By using the GSE base mounted system, with each base filled with 220kg of peat gravel, we were able to build a level array suitable for Fastensol rails that could handle 8 x 500w panels. The Battery and inverter are mounted at the rear of the array with the power being transported back to the property via a 16mm armoured cable. This is then connected to a secondary distribution board in the customers new outdoor office building and is then transported into the home via a 10mm AC armoured cable.
